In business for 124 years and run by four generations of the Lavazza family, the Lavazza brand has upheld its reputation for coffee quality and prestige. Serving more than 27 billion cups per year in over 90 countries—for us, the quest for perfection in every cup is never-ending.

Our story began in 1895 in Turin, Italy. There, Luigi Lavazza opened a small grocery store, where he discovered the concept of coffee blending. Determined, creative and passionate about his work, Luigi was inspired to mix together different coffees from around the world to create unique tastes that would satisfy his customers.

Together with his wife and three children, Luigi founded the Luigi Lavazza Company in 1927, which is part of Luigi Lavazza S.p.A., consisting of about 30 total companies.

In 2018, Lavazza acquired the Mars Drinks coffee business from Mars, Incorporated—another family-owned business—gaining a presence in the business-to-business space. Hence, the Lavazza Professional division/name was born.

Lavazza Professional is comprised of the KLIX® vending systems and FLAVIA® brewing systems—two leading brands in the Vending and Office Coffee Service (OCS) segments, respectively.

With a goal to create great tasting moments at work, Lavazza Professional is 100% dedicated to the workplace, creating new and inspiring ways to help people come together to achieve great results.

Lavazza now operates across various business segments: at home, away-from-home, and office coffee services.

After seeing the destruction of unsold coffee crops first-hand in South America in 1935, Luigi Lavazza was deeply moved and set his vision for doing business. Ever since, Lavazza has been focused on improving the development of the countries and people we buy coffee from.

We are committed to innovating products and processes while ensuring quality excellence in a sustainable manner.

Through various initiatives over the last 10+ years, including the Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza NGO Foundation, we’ve been taking action to improve the economies, communities, and overall working conditions of small coffee producers throughout South and Central America, Asia, and Africa.
